Ralph is the proprietor of Bar Volo; an Italian restaurant in Toronto that features local craft beer, wine and cheese.
Following a brief stint as a landscape architect twenty one years ago, Ralph was ready for a change when the opportunity to own a restaurant presented itself. The fact that he had no previous experience presented some interesting on the job learning especially when it came to beer.
Ralph started to bring in American and local craft beer to make the bar a little more interesting. At a time when alternatives to the large breweries in Ontario were few, Ralph believed in their efforts and brought their beer in. Ralph is also a sommelier and brings those same sensibilities to the wine menu which showcases Ontario and VQA wines. As an advocate of the craft, Ralph extends Volo as a showcase for staging regular beer, cheese and wine events.
